Goole station visitors are reminded that Network Rail’s subway pump replacement project will get under way next week.

The railway in Kent, East Sussex and South East London has kicked off a year of celebration marking the 200^th anniversary of the railway with an event at Deptford – the oldest railway station in London.

Train services between Taunton and Weston-super-Mare have returned to normal today following five days of engineering work to carry out essential structural repairs to a number of bridges.

As the railway celebrates its 200^th birthday, Barnes station in south west London has officially opened accessibility upgrades, setting the station up for the next 200 years.

Passengers are being urged to check before they travel on the Cambrian line ­from mid-March to early April when Network Rail will be carrying out a range of work across a 16-day period.

From Saturday 15 to Friday 21 February 2025, parts of the railway between Portsmouth and Havant and Fareham will be closed and rail replacement buses will be in operation, while Network Rail completes critical engineering upgrades to the railway.

Volunteers from Network Rail are working with the Butterfly Conservation in Buckinghamshire to help protect a rare species of butterfly.
