Network Rail responds to sentencing at Swansea Crown Court
Following the sentencing at Swansea Crown Court today for a breach of the Health and Safety at Work Act etc 1974, relating to the incident at Margam, Port Talbot on 3 July 2019 where colleagues Gareth Delbridge and Michael ‘Spike’ Lewis tragically lost their lives, Network Rail has issued the following statement.

From Saturday 15 to Friday 21 February 2025, parts of the railway between Portsmouth and Havant and Fareham will be closed and rail replacement buses will be in operation, while Network Rail completes critical engineering upgrades to the railway.

Saturday marks one week to go until train services will change on the West of England Line between Salisbury and Yeovil Junction between 22 February and 28 February, with no trains calling at Sherborne or Templecombe stations all week, while Network Rail complete vital improvements to the railway in the Gillingham area.
