Network Rail has begun the third major stage of work to create Mid Cornwall Metro (MCM) and transform coast-to-coast rail travel in the county.

Railway 200 marks the bicentenary of the first passenger railway journey on the Stockton & Darlington Railway in 1825.
So far, over 200 events celebrating the past, present and future of the railway have been scheduled across Britain over the coming year. More events are being added to Railway 200's website every week.

Upgrade work to commence on Mirfield canal towpath
As part of TRU’s First and Last Mile scheme, funding has been granted to waterways charity Canal & River Trust to complete the upgrade of the canal towpath between Shepley Bridge Marina and Station Road in Mirfield, with work starting next week (Monday 10 February).
